The uptake of A-Level biology is strong and our academic record is excellent, with many successfully securing university places to study Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Science.
Our A-Level biology course stretches and challenges our pupils intellectually. As well as enabling pupils to develop core knowledge and practical skills, the course fosters a broad interest in the living world.
A range of contemporary topics is covered in this course, including disease and antibiotic resistance, lifestyle risks, genetics and the behaviour of animals. Fieldwork is an important component of the course and pupils attend Slapton Ley FSC in Year 13.
We run bespoke courses for our Oxbridge candidates and encourage our pupils to enter a range of national competitions, including the Biology Olympiad.
